Copper Mountain
This impressive canyon system offers more than just a stunning view.
Copper Mountain
Copper Mountain, formerly called Wheeler, is located in Summit County and is close to the town of Frisco. The place is the starting point for Colorado’s Copper Triangle road cycling event. It snows heavily on this mountain during the winter, so it is no surprise that it hosted four alpine ski races during the 1976 World Cup.
Copper Mountain Ski Resort
The location of this ski resort is convenient, just 90 miles from Denver International Airport. Similar to other ski areas, the resort is divided into villages: East Village, West Village, and The Village at Copper. The area boasts an organized skier layout from beginner-friendly, slowly progressing to the most challenging runs. The only double black diamond runs can be found in the southernmost Tucker Mountains.
